Where Dreams Take Flight

Get to know us

Since 1987, the Phelan RC Flying Club has been a hub for remote-controlled (RC) model airplane enthusiasts. Our club is dedicated to sharing the fun and thrill of RC flying and welcoming new members to share our passion for the hobby.

On any given Summer calm wind day, there’s a good chance we’ll be flying between 10 am and 2 pm, so stop by to see what it’s all about.

Where we fly

Our flying site is north of Kars in the southern part of the Ottawa regional municipality.

Our members are spoiled with our 370-foot-long asphalt runway, inset into our 600-foot x 90-foot grass runway, with unobstructed approaches from East or West.

The Chateau McLeod clubhouse, named after one of our founders, features electricity and running water.

The steel John Dixie Hangar, named after a longtime member and former WWII Lancaster pilot, features solar-powered battery charging, Chateau electricity, and a gravity water system.

The Phelan RC Flying Club is a member of the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC) who have certified our site for safe and compliant operations. Check out our MAAC page to see our rules, operating certificate, map and how to contact us.
